Anita Dineen TAS

Anita Dineen’s luminous character is expressed in her whimsical creations.
A graduate of jewellery and sculpture studies, Dineen, based in Tasmania, hails from a rural landscape.  This foundation merged hard work and close bonds that ultimately informed her deep understanding of lifecycles, environment and sustainability.
Her curiosity and sensitivity are channelled into playful homewares and jewellery with a strong narrative base that bridges function and form. This, coupled with her thoughtful choice of material and meticulous craftwork, elevate everyday objects to resonate on an emotional level with the user.
‘Design makes me tick and good or bad, I see it in almost everything.  Be it mechanics or Marmalade, it’s the fine tolerances of quality and aesthetic that can make something ordinary extraordinary.’
In 2014 Dineen caught the attention of global leader Alessi after winning the Inaugural Australian Vogue Living Design Award. Her successful pitch to Alessi in Italy saw her ‘Antechinus’ design enter into continuous production for global distribution.
Anita has received significant recognition through awards, exhibitions and local and international media, including winner of the New York City Design Prize for homewares. Most recently, she has been working across scale focusing her skill and unique design style in a commitment to rebuilding a lost architectural treasure in Tasmania.
