Pippa Dickson TAS

Chair, Design Tasmania. Director, Expecting Good Weather.

Pippa Dickson imagines, creates and directs a range of creative & socially conscious projects. These include public cultural events, award winning public space development, art & architectural projects and public art initiatives. Her diverse works across the cultural sector also includes editing and research for a Mona publication on invasive species. Pippa co-owns a proudly pokie-free community focused restaurant and pub, The Salty Dog Hotel, in Hobart and actively lobbies for change in this sector towards more equitable and just communities. In 2015 Pippa was inducted in the inaugural ‘Design Honours’ as one of the 50 most influential people in design by the Australian Centre for Design. She is Chair of Design Tasmania and former Director of the National Association of the Visual Arts (NAVA), The Alcorso Foundation and the State Government’s Tasmanian Arts Advisory Board. Pippa has a PhD in Fine Arts and a BA in Political Science. Her designs are found in collections including Mona, Henry Jones Art Hotel and the Design Tasmania Wood Design Collection.
